Daisy/Brownie STEM Marathon
Mechanical Engineering: Makers will explore forces and energy by building a jumping "leap-bot," engineering a functional "extendo-hand" tool from cardboard, and designing their own custom board game from scratch.
Robotics & Coding: Using LEGO Spike, girls will build their own robotic creations and learn to "speak" to them using code to complete various tasks and creative challenges.
Badges Earned:
This workshop is specifically designed to fulfill the requirements for four official Girl Scout badges. LabSpace will provide the physical badges to the girls at the conclusion of the camp:
Mechanical Engineering 1 (Board Game Design Challenge for Daisies / Leap Bot Design Challenge for Brownies)
Robotics 1: What Robots Do / Programming Robots
Robotics 2: How Robots Move / Designing Robots
Coding for Good 1: Coding Basics
Registration Information:
Space is limited to 16 participants to ensure every girl has her own LEGO kit to use during class and personalized instruction from our lead teachers. The Legos have to stay at LabSpace, but you're welcome to take lots of pictures!
You do not have to be a Girl Scout to attend this event:)
