daCi Utah Day of Dance 2026
About this Event
Welcome to the daCi Utah Day of Dance!
The annual daCi Utah Day of Dance is a festival celebrating children as dancers and artists. All ages are invited to participate in the cultural and genre-specific workshops, creative collaborations, and to experience dance in an enriching community setting. Breakout and creative sessions are taught by highly qualified dance teaching artists ready to serve participants of all ages and abilitlies. From the those with no dance background to seasoned dancers, from babes in arms to grandparents-- all are welcomed for an envigorating and heart warming dance experience.
Studio participants will also enjoy a morning session with lively technique classes and opportunities to interact with dancers from other like-minded studios. Studio groups are welcome to bring compositions or pieces to perform.
Join us for an unforgettable experience building community as we tell STORIES that MOVE US through cultural and creative dance.

Info: Lively classes will be taught by highly seasoned dance artists. These seasoned dancers will guide your students through challenging technique sessions as well as spend time with creative improvisation, inviting students to work with those from other studios. Classes will be divided into three groups according to ability and age. Studio directors--please check your emails for other important information.

Afternoon Session (open to the general public)
Info: Enjoy an easy and enjoyable group warm up. Then join Creative Session classes where highly trained dance artists will lead multi-generational groups through the creative process, forming prepared choreography in only an hour. Attend the Sharing Showcase, where groups share their created pieces and cheer each other on. After a provided snack, choose from several Breakout Session classes representing dance from different cultures or genres, and are specifically curated for a wide variety of skill levels. Don't forget to fill out our post event survey and head out the door with a provided treat. Feel great about the wonderful experience you had at the daCi Day of Dance!

Creative Session
Info: Enjoy the thrill of creation and collaboration. Under the direction of highly skilled dance artists, work with group members to create a final work of choreography based around a theme. Final products will be shared in a casual performance for other groups.

Sharing Showcase
Info: Cheer on your fell participants as groups share their creations. Works prepared in the Creative Session will be performed in celebration of the event's theme. Also look forward to a few performances by local creative dance studios in partnership with the daCi Utah organization.
