Check out the dabke class series every Friday starting August 5th taught by Ayman, the director of the professional dance team - Thowra Dabke. The two most common types of Levantine dabke will be taught; 12-count (da2tein) and 6-count (da2e wa7de). All classes are 1 hour long and are held in person at the Motor City Street Dance Academy. There will be 3 levels of classes offered from 6-9pm; beginner, intermediate, and advanced. In the beginner series you will learn the proper technique and all of the fundamentals with a few variations. This series is meant to allow one to follow along in a dabke line. In the intermediate series you will learn more complex moves and timing, combining multiple moves together. This series is meant for one to be able to lead a dabke line. In the advanced series you will learn even more complex moves and variations along with the "big jump" move. This series is meant to allow one to comfortably lead a line with the most complex freestyle moves and be able to join a dabke team. All classes build on the previous one.Masks strongly recommended! Classes can also be done virtually!

Beginners is from 6-7pm
Intermediate is from 7-8pm
Advanced is from 8-9pm
The cost for all 4 classes is $45 for students and organizers, $55 for everyone else
A single class is $15
