In collaboration with the Salon de Virtuosi, on November 18, 2025, at 7 p.m. , the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York is delighted to present a special concert, Czech Serenade, at the Bohemian National Hall, 321 E 73rd Street.
Savor an evening of Czech culture, featuring the acclaimed Czech violinist Markéta Janoušková and the dynamic American ensemble Trio Gaia.
The concert is followed by meet-the-artist reception.
Admission to the concert is free, but seating is very limited so be sure to RSVP as soon as possible.

Bio:
Markéta Janoušková
Czech violinist Markéta Janoušková is applauded for her extraordinary artistic versatility and expressive musicianship. Praised by Fono Forum as “an eminent musician” and by the American Record Guide for her “sensitive and technically polished” playing, she performs worldwide as a soloist and chamber musician. A resident artist at Wigmore Hall and member of the Smetana Trio, she has appeared at major venues including the Berliner Philharmonie, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, and Konserthuset Stockholm. Her acclaimed solo album L’Astre Bleu (Genuin Classics) showcases her refined artistry, while her recording of Miloslav Kabeláč’s complete violin works (Capriccio – Naxos) highlights her commitment to contemporary repertoire. Nominated for the Ursula and Dwight Mamlok Award in 2022, she is also a member of the Miloslav Kabeláč Foundation. A graduate of the Prague Conservatory, the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, and the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, she is the founder of FolkloreClassic, an innovative project blending classical and folk music.

Trio Gaia
Founded in 2018, Trio Gaia is known for creating dynamic and personally engaging musical experiences. The ensemble has earned numerous awards, including 1st prize at the 2022 WDAV Young Chamber Musicians Competition and honors at the Premio Trio di Trieste, Chamber Music Yellow Springs, and Plowman competitions. They have performed across the U.S. and internationally, with appearances at the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts, Davidson College, and the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition. Dedicated to both classical and contemporary repertoire, Trio Gaia combines traditional works with new compositions and original arrangements. The group is also deeply committed to community engagement, presenting educational programs and residencies at the Panama Jazz Festival, Virginia Arts Festival, and PRIZM International Music Festival. Mentored by renowned artists including Vivian and Don Weilerstein, Kim Kashkashian, and Itzhak Perlman, all three members are graduates of the New England Conservatory of Music.
