POST CYBER SECURITY & HIGH TECH THREATS - Course #22317

Must bring laptop with minimum 8 GB RAM 40 GB free Hard Drive Space, with Admin rights and Windows 10

The 6-7 hour training on Friday will provide information on the standards of preserving digital evidence for court; introduction to computer and component identification; legal issues related to the search and seizure of digital evidence; overview of the phases of digital forensics; data authentication; and the preservation and collection of digital evidence. There will also be an introduction to mobile devices, including a review of a mobile device report that will demonstrate the types of data that can be extracted.

Instructors are Bruce Pixley & Henry Danielson:

Mr. Pixley is a Certified forensic analyst and expert witness providing testimony in U.S. Federal Court and CA State Court on the subject of computer forensics, operating systems, e‐mail, Trojan viruses, peer‐to‐peer software, digital photographs and recovery of deleted data. Areas of expertise include computer forensics, theft of intellectual property/trade secrets, network intrusions, Internet investigations, and human resource investigations. Course developer and instructed law enforcement and corporate investigators around the world for over 2,000 hours on the subjects of computer forensics, network intrusions, and high‐tech investigations.

Mr. Danielson has expert knowledge in Cybersecurity/Computer Security and has obtained his Certified Information Systems Security Office (CISSO) in 2019. Henry helped pivot the state championship California Cybersecurity Challenge in 2020 to all virtual. His guidance and support was able to support Defcon’s Aerspace village At Defcon Safe mode 2020 by running the CCIC Mission Allenium Satellite challenge. Mr. Danielson’s experience integrating technology in an educational setting, combined with his interpersonal skills, serve him well as Director of Technology at Coast Unified School District for fifteen years. Mr Danielson is a POST Certified Instructor.
