About this Event

Cyanotype Workshop presented by Miaan

Discover the beauty of cyanotype, one of the earliest photographic printing processes, in this hands-on introductory workshop led by our beloved Niloufar Samadi.

Participants will learn how to prepare and expose cyanotype prints using sunlight, photosensitive chemistry, and a variety of natural and found materials. Working through demonstrations and guided experimentation, you'll create a collection of unique blue-and-white prints while exploring the expressive possibilities of camera-less photography.

In addition to making prints on paper, each participant will receive a cotton tote bag to create a one-of-a-kind cyanotype print to take home.

This workshop is designed for beginners and anyone interested in analogue photography, printmaking, or experimental image-making. No prior experience is necessary, and all materials are included.

What you'll learn

• Introduction to the cyanotype process

• Coating and exposing cyanotype paper and fabric

• Working with plants, objects, and transparencies

• Washing, drying, and preserving finished prints

• Tips for continuing the process at home
