Cyanotype is a printing method that uses a light-sensitive mixture and sunlight to make deep blue images. It was one of the first kinds of photography and is known for being simple and versatile. No special skills or equipment are needed but participants can optionally bring small personal items to print, such as leaves, flowers, lace, or other textured materials.
Sara Hassan Khani is an Iranian-born multidisciplinary artist and educator based in Long Beach, California, whose work spans drawing, painting and printmaking. Her practice explores memory, displacement and the power dynamics embedded in fragile architectural spaces. Using a layered visual language that blends drawing, collage, photography and printmaking, she creates dreamlike works where memory and structure coexist. Exhibited internationally, her art examines the human cost of broken systems while highlighting the overlooked spaces where resilience emerges.
