MEETING POINT: At the main entrance off Nottingham Road, just inside the gates next to the Gatehouse.

Nottingham (New Basford) Cemetery contains 44 scattered burials of the First World War and 3 from the Second World War.

The CWGC tour will visit the graves of two local men who took part in the famous Royal Naval raid on Zeebrugge in 1918, both men died of wounds and were included in the ballot for a Victoria Cross, which will be explained during the tour. Another WW1 soldier of the local regiment, the Sherwood Foresters died of wounds incurred during the 1916 Dublin Easter insurrections. We also visit a joint grave of father, a Boer war & Great War veteran and his son who died in WW2.

Car parking is available next to the cemetery on Perry Road. No toilet facilities on-site but can be found at the supermarket opposite.

Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear suitable footwear.

The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF) aims to actively engage all communities with the work of the CWGC by telling the inspiring stories through education and outreach projects.

The CWGF is an independent charity registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales (1171947) and Scotland (SC051982).
