Teachers, we’re thrilled to open school bookings for 'Cutter and Coota' – a new theatre performance for Stage 2 and 3 students at the Hyde Park Barracks.
Bookings available for a limited production season in the first week of Term 4.
ABOUT:
What was life like for Aboriginal people before the arrival of Europeans? What was the nature and consequence of contact between Aboriginal people and the early traders, explorers and settlers?
Experience the unlikely bond of Cutter, an ambitious Rat, and Coota, a compassionate Bandicoot, as they find freedom and friendship and shed light on the colonial history of the Hyde Park Barracks.
Written by Bruce Pascoe and presented in association with Moogahlin Performing Arts on the grounds of the UNESCO World Heritage listed Hyde Park Barracks, Cutter and Coota explores themes of sustainability, colonisation, and how we care for Country.
Cutter and Coota asks student audiences to reflect on Australia’s history. The performance promotes truth telling, deep listening and the understanding of multiple perspectives across shared landscapes.
