About this Event
Cut & Paste Collage Workshop: Vino & Valentine!
Join us for a fun and creative collage workshop where you can make your very own Valentine's Day card!
Did you know a Valentine can be for a friend, your boo, your dog, your favorite food, yourself, yourself 10 years ago, your mother, or a stranger!?!!
Spend the afternoon slowing down and creating something with love and care. No experience necessary, just bring a little love! The event will be held at iDle Wine 1433 S 13th St.
Lead by: Amelia Broussard
What to bring: I will have all the supplies you need, but you can always bring something from home if you want to add an additional personalized touch - a love note, a recipe card, a receipt from your favorite coffee shop.
Dates: Sunday, Feburary 8th 1:00 - 3:00
The price of your ticket covers:
- Uniquely sourced and priceless vintage papers
- Supplies like glue, scissors, and high-quality hot press watercolor paper
- My time and expertise to source materials, and lead our workshop!
- *Tickets are priced at a rate that affords me a livable wage. However, if the cost feels prohibitive to you and you’re hankering to create, please reach out.
A note from the artist.Hi! I'm so excited that you are interested in joining this collage workshop. I really am. I love gathering together in community, to create. In this fast paste... I mean paced... world, it is truly something special to sit down and use our hands to make something, together. No AI and no screens - just a practice of using your gut intuition to make decisions and get tactile. Cut and paste. No option for “edit-undo”. You’ll leave the class with a beautiful (and analog) piece of personal art. No experience? No problem - I’ll walk you through steps to create your unique piece. A professional? Wonderful! Step into a readied “studio”, and I’ll do the cleanup. It’s nice to be taken care of sometimes.
The vast majority of the materials from this workshop are sourced second-hand . I believe in using something old to create new - both as metaphor, and as an environmental tool to lessen our impact. Plus, you can’t replicate the patina of a vintage image. In a world that feels digitally-complex and fast-moving, some of the most meaningful time we can spend together is creating. A precious serotonin boost, a moment in community, and a space to have fun and reflect. Please reach out if you have any questions. I can't wait to meet you!"
