Custom Burned Hat Workshop – Gold Coast | Design Your Own Felt Fedora

Burleigh Heads creative workshop where you design and wood-burn your own felt fedora. Freestyle your design — no experience. BYO drinks.
About this Event

Looking for things to do on the Gold Coast that are creative, social, and a little different?

In this Custom Burned Hat Workshop, you’ll design and personalise your own felt fedora using a wood-burning tool. This beginner-friendly experience is fully guided and designed for people who want to unwind, get creative, and enjoy a relaxed, social atmosphere — no experience required.

Each participant receives one fedora-style felt hat. The style is fixed, but the hat is unisex and adjustable in size, making it suitable for a wide range of head sizes. You’ll also be able to choose from a large range of colours to suit your personal style.

To make the experience comfortable for everyone, you can freestyle your design or use a transfer to map it out first — perfect if freehand drawing feels intimidating. You’ll be guided step-by-step throughout the workshop so you can focus on enjoying the process.

What you’ll experience:

• One unisex, adjustable felt fedora per person
• A wide range of hat colours to choose from
• Design your hat freehand or with a transfer
• Learn how to safely use a wood-burning tool
• Burn patterns, symbols or lettering into your hat
• A relaxed, social atmosphere with guidance throughout
• Take home your finished custom hat on the day
