Curtain Call: Welton Jones 1936-2022

Welton made his final exit on December 17, 2022. Now we invite you to join us for a joyous tribute to the man who for decades kept us abreast of San Diego history, promoted the local theater scene, and worked hard to preserve the city’s cultural soul. There will be guest speakers, light refreshments and live music from the Uptown Rhythm Makers.

We invite you to take this opportunity to meet up with old friends and colleagues and share memories of your time with Welton.

To reach the Pan American Plaza Lot (closest to Starlight) take President’s Way from Park Blvd into Balboa Park. The lot is at the top of the hill straight ahead and to the left. To the right is the Spreckels Organ Pavilion Lot. On your way up the hill you will have also passed the Federal Lot.

If the lots are full you can park at the Inspiration Point Lot directly across Park Blvd. There is free Tram Service every 15 minutes that has a stop at the Pan American Plaza Lot.
