About this Event
The Curse of Griffith Park Hike
Brace yourself for a hike through the haunted trails of this historic park, with eerie tales of the curse, M**der and mayhem, disease, dissaster, paranormal encounters, and mysterious happenings that have plagued Griffith Park for centuries.
Led by naturalist and outdoor educator Jason Wise (@jasonjourneyman on Instagram & Tiktok), this sunset into night hike takes us along a trail through time, while we also explore the spooky nature the park has to offer. Hopefully we'll be able to spy some bats, owls and spiders befitting the Halloween season.
We'll definitely meet our famous (or infamous) cast of characters (who may or may not still haunt the park) Don Antonio Feliz (how Los Feliz got it's name), his neice Petranilla Feliz (the drama queen), and of course the park namesake Col. Griffith J Griffith.
This is the campfire ghost story of Los Angeles and Griffith Park's foundation, ghost stories you're definitely going to want to share with your friends this Halloween season.
Meet up location details will be sent shortly before the event.
The trail is largely a wide dirt fire road, 2 mile walk total with 250ft elevation change. It is accessible for most, but some steep sections may make it more difficult for those with mobility issues. If you have questions please ask so I can make sure the hike is accomodating. Kids and dogs welcome!
