Current Trends in Mental Health

The Touro University California Joint MSPAS/MPH Program Mental Health Conference will take place at Gaia Hotel and Spa in Anderson, California which is located just outside of Redding, California on Thursday, November 3rd, 2022. Conference registration is 100% free of charge to anyone. You do not have to be a PA to attend.

The purpose of this annual mental health conference is to increase access to mental health education and resources in Northern California as part of a Federal HRSA Grant Touro received within the last few years. The focus of the 2022 conference will be on Current Trends in Mental Health that will include: "Interpersonal Violence in Special Populations," "FOMO or Future? Tips to Harness Technology to Improve Mental Health," "Intergenerational Trauma and its Effects on Stress, Coping, and Mental Health," "Managing the Suicidal Patient for the Rural Primary Care Provider," "Street Medicine: Community Based Care for Mental Health Treatment in People Experiencing Homelessness," "Sexual and Gender-based Violence and Barriers to Accessing Mental Health Resources, and the Crisis of Mental Health" and "SUD in America: How PA's Can Act to Stand Up and Save Lives".

The conference will be held in person and food will be provided. In person attendance is limited and will be based on a first-come first served basis. If you are unable to attend in person, a virtual webinar will be broadcast live but will not be recorded. You must attend the session in entirety and fill out an evaluation for each session to be eligible for CME credit. A Zoom link to the webinar will be sent out closer to the date of the conference. We highly encourage in person attendance where possible. Virtual attendance is also limited to 500 attendees and will be based on a first-come first serve basis.

This activity has been reviewed by the AAPA Review Panel and is compliant with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 7 AAPA Category 1 CME credits.
