Currency of Resilience: Exloring Immigrant Narratives
The ability to adapt to the new, or rebound from rapidly changing, usually unfavorable, circumstances can be codified as the “currency of resilience”. It is an attribute typically identified
with immigrant and migrant communities who leave their homeland in search of a better life.
This exhibition is a dialogue between four artists with Caribbean roots. It explores how they deploy their “currency of resiliency" from their diasporic perspectives to navigate the dynamic and complex intersection of power, identity and privilege in their lived experience and art
practice in America.
