Join Cowtown’s curator, James Vannurden, and local historian and WSU Public History Program graduate, Suzanne Walenta, as we explore the flags that have flown over courthouses throughout the state of Kansas. Walenta will discuss the 34-star US flag used when Kansas entered the Union, the history of the Kansas state flag, and design of Wichita’s city flag. Help us commemorate National Flag Day as the nation celebrates the 250th anniversary in 2026.
This program is free to the public thanks to a generous grant from Wichita Wagonmasters Good Life Fund at Wichita Foundation.
