CUMBIA y COMUNIDAD From the Caribbean coast of Colombia to the barrios and dance floors of Chicago, this evening celebrates the rhythms that have united generations across family parties, street festivals, social clubs, and neighborhoods throughout Latin America and its diaspora.Fuego de Cumbia brings the spirit of Colombian cumbia to life through the sounds of gaita, accordion, tambora, and the alegre drum. Rooted in Chicago but inspired by the folkloric traditions of Colombias Caribbean coast, the band creates a live experience full of sabor, and authentic Colombian cumbia. Their performances feel like a tropical street celebration where tradition, dance, and culture become one.Rosalba Valdez is one of Chicagos most powerful bilingual voices a first-generation Mexican-American singer-songwriter, activist, blending traditional Mexican roots with Latin alternative, salsa, cumbia, and contemporary rhythms. As a female-fronted force in Chicagos Latin music scene, Rosalba brings passion, elegance, and soul to every stage. Her music celebrates identity, resilience, immigrant stories, love, with authenticity and corazn.
