“A Little Russian Romance” with Tchaikovsky, Kabalevsky and Borodin featuring two outstanding young violinists
About this Event

Our concert “A Little Russian Romance” features Alicia Huang and Minji Choi, the Junior and Intermediate winners of our 2024-25 Parness Competition, in violin concertos by Kabalevsky and Tchaikovsky. Maestro Clyde Mitchell and the orchestra begin the program with Borodin’s “In the Steppes of Central Asia” and end with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 2, “The Little Russian.”

See our website for more information.

The Culver City Symphony Orchestra is a community orchestra where professional musicians play alongside nonprofessional community members and students. For over 60 years, we have provided an opportunity for members of the community to participate in the symphony orchestra, and brought regular, free symphonic music concerts to the community. We aim to balance the great works of the past with exciting contemporary music, performed by experienced musicians playing alongside the best of the next generation.

Our concerts are free, thanks to grants and donations, and all are welcome. Our audience includes both lifelong lovers of classical music, and first-timers who may have only heard a symphony orchestra on a movie or videogame soundtrack.

Please join us on April 19th, and bring your family, friends and neighbors!
