CultureHaus Event: In Studio with Laura Shill

CultureHaus members are invited to join multidisciplinary artist Laura Shill for a studio visit and artist talk ahead of her debut installation at the Denver Art Museum.
Shill will describe the inspiration and process of creating "Your Song," a forthcoming interactive karaoke installation. Opening in October, "Your Song" invites visitors to let go of inhibition and embrace communion with others.
This is an offsite event at Friend of a Friend, located at 3575 Chestnut Pl., Suite 112, Denver, CO 80216. Registration is required.

About the Artist: Laura Shill is an artist based in Denver whose work is a collision of sculpture, installation, performance, and photography. Shill addresses ideas of viewer and subject, disclosure and concealment, absence and intimacy. Her works explore the transformative potential of people and objects through early and experimental forms of image making that pair the sinister and beautiful. Her sculptural and installation work borrows theatrical conventions and employs repetition of form to create environments that immerse and oscillate between humor and heartbreak.
