Culture to Capital: Owning the Creative Economy is a curated luncheon conversation designed to shift that narrative.
This gathering centers Black creatives not only as artists, but as business owners, strategists, innovators, and economic drivers within the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem. Together, we will explore what it means to move from creation to ownership, from visibility to viability, and from influence to sustainable impact.
This session will create space for meaningful conversation around:
- Owning your work, brand, and intellectual property
- Building sustainable business models beyond one-off projects and gigs
- Strengthening systems, structure, and financial discipline within creative businesses
- Navigating partnerships, contracts, and opportunities while maintaining ownership and control
- The role of philanthropy, institutions, and ecosystems in properly supporting creatives as businesses
At its core, this conversation acknowledges a simple truth:
Creativity is business. And when intentionally supported, Black creatives have the power to generate lasting economic impact within their communities.
Join us for a thoughtful afternoon of connection, strategy, and conversation as we celebrate Black Business Month and Black Philanthropy Month through the lens of ownership, creativity, and liberation.
