Culture Shock Bio:
James Pountney aka Culture Shock has gone from the passing of an unmarked demo, to arguably the drum & bass scene’s most ground-breaking producer. Since his first release on Moving Shadow in 2004, Culture Shock has consistently pushed boundaries with his sonic artwork, creating a diverse discography which has become symbolic within one of the UK’s most withstanding genres.
1991 Bio:
Thriving in the exciting, unchartered sonic playground where musicality and momentum touch your soul… This is the vision and mission of drum & bass artist 1991. With a vibrant fusion of hooky melodics, heady emotions and high impact production, 1991’s contemporary signature has taken him around the world, attracted over a million monthly listeners on Spotify, scored multiple Hottest Record titles on Radio 1 and led to remixes of stadium-filling electronic acts such as Supermode, Sonny Fodera, Mason, Axwell and Basement Jaxx. Recent singles such as 'Jungle' ft. Alex Hosking, 'Cyclone' with Mugatu and 'Horizon' with Poppy Baskcomb signal what’s to come next as 1991 hits his stride as one of the most prominent new-generation D&B headliners to have emerged in recent years. Now a part of the label family at Polydor / Chaos, the scene is seeing the most ambitious creations and manoeuvres of 1991's career so far.
Primate Bio:
This 23-year-old whizz-kid has been making serious waves in our scene lately. Originating from Ghent, Belgium, he has certainly left his mark on us over the years.
Growing up surrounded by writers, theatre artists, and jazz musicians, Primate began his journey into music at the age of 11. Starting with all-round music at local events and birthdays, he developed a deep love for Electronic Music and Drum & Bass.
As he expanded his musical spectrum, experimenting with productions across various genres, Primate became known for his screechy basslines and hard-hitting drums. His signature sound led to his first Drum & Bass show in 2018, paving the way for him to become the indispensable jump-up headliner we know today.
Lockdowns and outdoor festivals further shaped his sound, evolving it into the more melodic and technical style you hear from him now. He continues to release high-quality productions across Drum & Bass and other Electronic genres, always staying true to his gritty roots while delivering harmonic and emotional soundscapes.
On top of his musical talents, Primate isn’t shy in front of the camera, taking over social media platforms and proving himself to be an outstanding entertainer.
We’re excited to see what the future holds for Primate—who knows what his next release might bring!
