Culture Series event for Wednesday, June 12, 7:00pm
Speaker – Lori Dahlstrom – Co-founder of Silver Assets, Mesilla, New Mexico.
We are very excited to have Lori Dahlstrom from Silver Assets in Mesilla coming on June 12th to talk about the history and variety of Native American jewelry. Her talk will include the types of jewelry made by the different tribes, the exceptional artistry and craftsmanship required to create such beautiful pieces and the significance and symbolism within the jewelry designs.
In addition, Lori will have numerous examples of the different types of jewelry on display.
Her talk will also include examples and discussion of the different types of turquoise and silver and other stones as well as what to look for, and look out for, when considering the purchase of Native American Jewelry.
Lori and her husband Ken founded Silver Assets 35 years ago, in 1989. Lori and Ken have been in the Native American jewelry business for many years prior to the Silver Assets opening and became friends with the licensed traders from the reservations and later had a private trading post on the Zuni reservation where he worked and traded with the Native craftsmen and craftswomen. It is through these very personal relationships with the Native Americans that allowed Silver Assets to become such a respected resource of authentic Native American jewelry.
The lecture will be held on Wednesday, June 12th at 7:00pm. The location will be in the main lobby of the Farm and Ranch Museum.
PLEASE NOTE – Due to space, seating is limited to 100 people so
PLEASE RESERVE YOUR SEATS!!! Please email your reservation to [email protected]. RSVP's here will not be counted unless you email the Friends office. We will confirm receipt and look forward to seeing you at the talk!
