About this Event

Join us on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 PM, as Kay Osmer presents, "Mary Mish & the Restoration of the Hager House."

Kay Osmer, Recreation Assistant for the City of Hagerstown, will explore this topic during Maryland Archaeology Month! Discover the efforts of historic preservationist Mary Vernon Mish and the Washington County Historical Society to preserve and restore the Jonathan Hager House in City Park. Mary Vernon Mish served as the first female president of the WCHS from 1942 to 1949.

See historic before and after photos of the house's restoration and explore the house's architecture. Please, learn about the historic archaeological dig conducted during the 1950s!

Culture & Cocktails is generously sponsored by the James & Mary Schurz Foundation. C&C is held on the second Friday of each month from 6:00-8:00 PM. Doors open at 5:30 PM. Refreshments and one complimentary drink ticket are included with each ticket.Β 

This month's cocktail will be a classic 1950s cocktail, to be announced!
