Eating Disorders in BIPOC Communities 🌟 EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION OPEN 🌟

Take advantage of our Early Bird rate! Register on or before Friday, July 17, 2026, to secure your ticket for just $65.00 (Standard registration is $75.00 after July 17th).

Join us for this hybrid (Choose either In-Person Attendance or Live Virtual Webinar at checkout) continuing education workshop for an insightful event exploring eating disorders within BIPOC communities. Gain valuable knowledge and earn 3 NASW CEUs while connecting with others passionate about this important topic. Eating disorders carry among the highest mortality rates of any psychiatric diagnosis, yet BIPOC individuals remain significantly less likely to be accurately diagnosed or linked to specialist care.

Traditional diagnostic tools often fail to capture the nuanced presentation of disordered eating in diverse populations. As the clinical landscape rapidly evolves with the rise of weight psychology and medical interventions like GLP-1 medications, healthcare professionals must expand their approach.

Join Tywanda Williams, LCSW, BCBC, CCM for an advanced, 3-hour hybrid continuing education workshop designed to dismantle clinical biases and build culturally responsive, integrative frameworks for sustainable recovery.

Whether you join us in person at our wellness center or via our live virtual webinar, you will walk away with actionable strategies to immediately upgrade your clinical practice.

By the conclusion of this training, participants will be equipped to:

  • Identify systemic barriers and standardized Western biases within the BMI framework and DSM-5 diagnostic criteria contributing to underdiagnosis in BIPOC populations.
  • Analyze the direct clinical implications of weight stigma and medical bias on patient trust, retention, and long-term treatment outcomes.
  • Evaluate the distinct behavioral health risks and benefits of GLP-1 receptor agonists through an integrative lens to safely monitor for "silent" or hidden disordered eating patterns.
  • Develop actionable multidisciplinary care coordination strategies that successfully bridge the gap between mental health providers, bariatric medicine, and primary care systems.
