We acknowledge the Wurundjeri People as the Traditional Custodians of the land this event takes place on.Join the AABR Vic members and the Christmas Hills Landcare Group for an afternoon of connection and learning in Christmas Hills.
We’ll visit two local properties to hear from landholders about their land management experiences, including the return of Wurundjeri firestick practices and how these are shaping ecological outcomes.
The excursion will highlight the group’s long-standing commitment to fire as a management tool, and their work since 2017 establishing demonstration sites in partnership with the Wurundjeri. *Afternoon tea will be shared from 4–5pm.
*Date: Sunday 16 November 2025
*Time: 2–5pm (afternoon tea 4–5pm)
*Meeting point: Yarra Valley Trails Horse Riding, 35 Osborne Road, Christmas Hills (carpooling from here due to limited parking).
*Terrain: Minimal walking (~300m), off-track on gentle slopes with grassy understorey, leaf litter and fallen logs.
*Capacity: 15 visitors + Christmas Hills Landcare
*Bring/Wear: Something to share for afternoon tea, water, medications, closed shoes, weather-appropriate clothes (sunhat, sunscreen, raincoat).
