Bring the family down to Weaver Heritage Park and engage in interactive learning cultural opportunities and activities throughout this 2-day immersive cultural experience!
Listen to Elders and Knowledge Keepers speak on various topics related to Indigenous cultures, participate in games and activities, help us create our community art project, and much more!
- Lakeland College will provide one Tipi with Knowledge Keeper Kuna Gadwa, who will offer Hair teachings; and Tinisha and Jazmyn, will offer medicine teachings.
- LPSD will provide one Tipi, with all the supplies to make Dream Catchers, donated by Cenovus
- LCSD will provide one Tipi, where you'll find Turtle Teachings with Elder Linda Bourdeau Semaginis; and Cynthia, making Bannock.
- Métis Local 18 will provide a Métis trapper tent with voyager games, and a learning mosaic. Tasha Hilderman will be doing readings of her book 'Métis Like Me'. Maxine Desgarlais will be teaching jigging, there will also be Métis flags and Métis story telling.
- LMA will provide a small tipi, and offer tipi teachings with Elder Vivian Whitstone. Also, in the log cabin take part in our community art project, and a fire in the fire pit *weather depending.
