Meet the Artists behind the masks of Cultural Coalition on First Friday at Arizona Center in downtown Phoenix. Our Mask Apprentices who have studied with master sculptor Zarco Guerrero will have their work featured at this one-night only pop-up exhibit. Our Apprentices support our festivals and outreaches as amazing puppeteers inside the giant 8-ft dancing puppets you see, and as our mischievous, crowd troublemaking cucuis. Hear about their experiences learning how to make masks with Zarco, and what's like to continue this mask making legacy with their own creative art!
We'll also have free mask making activities at our pop-up and inside Skye's The Limit Foundation.
This program is free and open to the public thanks to support from Arizona Humanities, Arizona Center, and Skye's the Limit Foundation.
