Exploring Ohio’s Arts & Crafts HeritageThis year’s Caravan theme is the Arts & Crafts Movement, which broadly influenced both artistic and industrial design in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. We will be visiting two modern-day workshops operating in the Arts & Crafts tradition that will illustrate copper work, book-making, and other craft media; and the Chillicothe home of Dard Hunter, probably Ohio’s premier Arts & Crafts practitioner in the early 20th century. A preparatory lecture will be given by Castle archaeologist Wes Clarke, who will also lead the trip. An early morning snack, and lunch at the Earthworks Café in Newark, are included.
- Advanced reservations required.
