Dr. Rajni Shankar-Brown, Professor and the Jessie Ball duPont Chair of Social Justice Education at Stetson University and the President of the National Coalition for the Homeless, will illuminate the power of empathy and cultural humility, along with promising practices. Weaving connections to social and environmental justice issues from global, national, and local perspectives through research, narrative, art and poetry, the critical need for intentionally cultivating empathy and prioritizing equity, along with the numerous benefits of embracing and practicing cultural humility will be discussed.
