About this Event

Cultivating Community: An Assets-Based Approach to Community Gardens

Join us for an in-person workshop focused on growing stronger community gardens by leveraging the assets you already have. This event is a collaboration between and .

This workshop will teach you how to identify and utilise the unique strengths within your community to create and sustain thriving green spaces. Whether you're a seasoned gardener, a community organiser, or simply passionate about positive change, you'll learn practical strategies and connect with others who share your goals.

What You'll Learn

At Forever Manchester, we believe the best ideas come from the people who live in and know their communities. Our workshops are all about celebrating what's strong, not what's wrong.

Our workshops are fun, informal, and packed with real-life stories from Greater Manchester. We'll help you discover the hidden talents, passions, and skills already buzzing in your neighbourhood, and show you how to bring people together to make great things happen.

Whether you're part of a local group, a resident with a big idea, or just curious about how to get more involved, our sessions are designed to inspire and empower. You'll learn how to:

  • Map the amazing assets in your community.
  • Start conversations that spark action.
  • Turn ideas into activities that bring people together.
  • Keep the momentum going with tools and tips that really work.

The best part? It's all delivered by our friendly Community Builders who have been there, done it, and got the bunting to prove it!

Accessing the Course

The training will be held at The Top Floor, Manchester Museum's environmental and social justice hub. When you arrive at the museum, please inform a member of staff that you are attending the training. They will then direct you to the lift and stairs that lead to the hub.
