Cultivate & Create | Mushroom Cultivation & Polymer Clay Earring Workshop
About this Event
🍄 Root & Craft x Asahi Mushrooms | Cultivate & Create
An immersive afternoon of mushroom cultivation, creativity, and connection.
Calling all mushroom lovers! Join Root & Craft and Asahi Mushrooms for a one-of-a-kind experience that brings together the fascinating world of fungi with the joy of creating by hand.
This collaborative workshop is designed so every guest enjoys both experiences in an intimate, relaxed setting. We'll divide into two smaller groups before swapping halfway through the afternoon.
🍄 Mushroom Growing Experience
Step behind the scenes at Asahi Mushrooms for an up-close look at the incredible journey from spore to harvest.
You'll learn about the mushroom growing process from start to finish, including:
- Spore collection
- Germinating into living mycelium
- Colonization
- Triggering fruiting conditions
- Harvesting gourmet mushrooms
Then, you'll inoculate your very own mushroom grow kit to take home. Choose from a selection of gourmet varieties including:
- Coral Tooth
- Lion's Mane
- Pink Oyster
- Golden Oyster
- King Oyster
- Shiitake
- Pioppino
Whether you're completely new to mushroom cultivation or already obsessed with fungi, you'll leave with a deeper appreciation for these remarkable organisms and your own grow kit to continue the experience at home.
🍄 Polymer Clay Mushroom Earrings
While the other half of the group explores the mushroom farm, you'll join Root & Craft to create your own pair of woodland-inspired polymer clay mushroom earrings.
You'll learn simple sculpting techniques before designing and assembling your own wearable keepsake.
No experience is necessary, just bring your creativity.
Your earrings will be baked during the workshop and ready to take home before you leave.
