Cuerpos Justificados brings performance rooted in disability to Dorothy!

Cuerpos Justificados (Justified Bodes) is an artist collective focused on presenting work rooted in disability within our culture. Join us on June 11th to see Ashley Ann Griggs, Lyn Rae & Raro perform.

Doors open at 6pm and our performances start at 7pm! Tickets are $15 and are shared with the performers and our venue.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Ashley Ann Griggs is a singer songwriter who weaves country folk and americana influences into sometimes humorous, and always heartfelt songs about family and life.

Lyn Rye is a Chicago bassist, singer, and composer whose second album, Soft Blood, was released on Sept. 9th, 2022.As a versatile bassist who plays with folk, jazz, hip-hop, and rock musicians, Rye is someone who can create genuine newness. Being able to create beats, sing, play bass, and collaborate allows them to escape any boxes threatening to confine their music to genres. Follow Lyn Rye on IG @lyn_rye_musi

Raro’s music comes directly from Stephanie Alma’s experience as a Mexican, American, disabled woman. Joined by Tommy Carroll on drums, Marcos Rios on guitar, and DC on bass. Raro is a blend of Spanish rock, Latin, grooves, punky, baselines, and unsettling vocals like roses in a teardrop filled vase. Raro’s first album. “From Your Fear I Learned” debuts in June and is a testament to radical love, true stories, and life lessons. Follow Raro on IG @raro_band

Dorothy is 21+ and requires physical ID for all to enter. Dorothy is also ADA accessible via elevator access on Campbell Avenue. From 6-7:30pm we will have a team member stationed at the elevator on Campbell Avenue. If you are a guest who requires elevator access and arrives after 7:30pm, either stop by Split-Rail for assistance or ask our security person for access at the Dorothy door.
