About this Event

Join members and supporters as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of men's lightweight rowing at Cambridge and the 40th anniversary of the women's lightweight race. The event will be held on Saturday the 14th of September 2024.

The day will consist of a trip to the CUBC Ely Boathouse, with refreshments and a chance for alumni racing. This is an excellent occasion for alumni to meet the current squad and see where the squad trains as a single, united club. It is expected that alumni should arrange their own transportation to Ely.

Following the day outing, a dinner will be held in the St John’s College, Cambridge at 7:30pm in honour of the 50th Anniversary and celebrating the contributions of Bob Greatorex and Richard Bates to the Races and the Club. The 40th Anniversary of the first Lightweight Women's Boat Race will also be acknowledged. All Club members, regardless of legacy club affilation are warmly encouraged to attend.

The dress code is black tie/club blazer, with donor lapel pins warmly encouraged.

Prior to the dinner, a drinks reception will be held in St John’s College's Main Cloister at 6:30pm. There will be an extra allocation of tickets for the reception to allow those who cannot attend the dinner a chance to catch up with friends and other members of the Club.
