Cuban Cultural Connections: Welcome Event (Workshops & Party)

MetaMovements is a collective of artists united by our passion for Latin dance and music, and our belief in the arts as a powerful tool for positive transformation, cultural exchange, and personal empowerment. Help us welcome Javier Jeffer Cumbrera–an incredible dancer and musician who is visiting from Cuba with a special artist visa! Come be a part of an uplifting afternoon filled with dance, connection, and community.

Event Schedule:

12-2PM – Cuban Movement & Musicality Workshops with live music - Dive into MetaMovements & Javier’s unique mix of Afro-Cuban, Cuban Modern, Rumba & Salsa Fusion

2-5PM – Welcome Party, Social & Performances - Brief Beginner Salsa Lessons at 2pm in a separate area, as party begins

What to Expect at the Welcome Party:

• Social Dancing, Ruedas, & Timba Lines! A fun & welcoming environment for all!
• Performances: Incredible performances by Javier, MM Team & invited guests!
• Gifts from Cuba: Instruments, Skirts, Books, Jewelry & more from our team on the island

Entry fees:

• $25 (12PM - 5PM) includes special workshops with live music followed by performances, appetizers, social dancing and special surprises!
• $15 (2PM-5PM only) includes performances, appetizers, social dancing and special surprises!

About Javier Jeffer Cumbrera: Javier is an accomplished artist who specializes in Afro-Cuban folkloric, traditional and modern music and dance genres, along with Cuban Modern, Ballet and Improvisation techniques. His unique approach blends tradition with creativity, honoring Cuban roots while fostering a deep spiritual connection through movement and sound.
