The Cape Town Concert Series presents an Extra recital on Saturday 27 April at 3pm with award winning new generation pianist Daniel Kharitonov.He will be featured in the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra’s Autumn Season playing Rachmaninoff’s 1st Concerto on Thursday 24 April and asked if he could stay on to present a solo recital for the Concert Series with a programme of Rachmaninoff and Chopin – how could we refuse? Long time supporter and patron of the Concert Series – Bill van Rensburg – immediately came to our aid with sponsorship of the artist’s fee and this also allows us to raise much needed funds for the upkeep and maintenance of our very special Steinway Grand Piano.
The programme is Rachmaninoff’s Six Moments Musicaux followed by Chopin Nocturns 1, Op.48 and 2, Op. 27, 12 Etudes op. 25 and 3 Etudes post.Op.
Tickets are available from Webtickets and at the Baxter Box Office. As always the Baxter bar and restaurant will be open before and after the concert.
