In a collaborative effort, the students and leaders of the Carthage Technical Center have begun rehabbing a home that was significantly damaged by a fire. Students are transforming a house for Magdalena, a homeowner who was struggling to find the resources to rebuild. Magdalena approached Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity and through an application process was selected as a partner family. We look forward to informing the community on this exciting venture and in our intent to continue to collaborate for the betterment of the community.Carthage Technical Center believes that each student should acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities of their chosen career. That all students be given the opportunity to improve their leadership abilities, develop a positive attitude, establish good human relations, and determine their goals in life based on rational thinking. Technical education is an integral part of the total education program and contributes toward the development of good citizens by upgrading their physical, social, civic, cultural, economic, and technical competencies.
Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build
homes, communities and hope. Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity began in 1989, and has built 186 homes and made over 500 repairs for homeowners with housing needs.
