Course Description:
The Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), effective January 1, 2024, imposes a new requirement for many entities to report control and ownership information to The U.S. Department of Treasury’s Federal Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) to combat money laundering. Penalties for non-compliance include significant civil and criminal penalties. The CTA is estimated to affect 32 million entities, many of which are small businesses. This info session will highlight key information you must know about CTA compliance for your business, including how to determine whether your business is subject to its new reporting requirements and what, how, and when you need to report to FinCEN.
Information Presented:
- Overview of the Corporate Transparency Act
- Entities Subject to Reporting
- Whose Information Must Be Reported
- Reporting Deadlines and Procedures
- Civil and Criminal Penalties for Non-Compliance
Who Should Attend:
Small business-owners: is your business entity an LLC or corporation? If so, you likely must file a Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) report with FinCEN!
