About this Event
Crowns in the City: The Inaugural Hat Walk
MLK Weekend of Service | Douglasville
Crowns in the City is an intentional community activation designed to bring men together through style, fellowship, and purpose, while actively investing in the health and vitality of our community.
As part of Hatrimony’s MLK Weekend of Service, this Inaugural Hat Walk invites attendees to gather in Downtown Douglasville for a curated walking experience that uplifts Black-owned businesses, fosters meaningful connection, and prioritizes men’s health awareness—with a special focus on prostate cancer education and prevention.
Community + Health at the Center
We are proud to partner with Grady Memorial Hospital, whose representatives will be on-site to provide men with opportunities to sign up for prostate cancer screenings and receive critical health education. Following the walk, attendees will hear directly from Grady Memorial representatives and a urologist, offering insight, awareness, and actionable next steps around men’s health.
This activation is about removing barriers, opening dialogue, and encouraging proactive care—because brotherhood also means looking out for one another.
Supporting Local Black-Owned Businesses
The Hat Walk will include designated stops at Black-owned businesses throughout the Downtown Douglasville landscape, encouraging attendees to engage, patronize, and build relationships within the local business community.
In addition, our neighbors Gritz Brunch Bar and T's Brunch Bar will be offering exclusive brunch deals to Hat Walk participants—creating space for conversation, fellowship, and shared experience before and after the walk.
