The Crossroads Beatbox Battle
The Crossroads Beatbox Battle is an annual international beatbox competition held in Kansas City, MO. This year's event will take place over three days, September 18-20 , and will include three battle categories: Solo, Tag-Team, and Loopstation.
Day 1 and 2 of the event will be at Vine Street Brewing (September 18-19. The first two days will consist of a beatbox workshop from the judges, all of the elimination or seeding rounds for solo, tag-team, and loopstation battle categories. and the first half of all the bsattles. Day 3 will be held at Lemonade Park (September 20 ) where we will have all of the final battles for each category. There will be a top 16 solo battle, top 4 tag-team battle , and top 4 loopstation battle. If enough artists register to compete for tag-team and loopstation, and time permits, we might change tag-team or loopstation into a top 8 bracket.
Second devices will be allowed for the loopstation category. However, all second devices must not have any not prerecorded sounds or be able to generate their own sounds (i.e. guitar FX pedals, midi controllers, etc.) All sounds must be created live during the battle rounds.
The event will be livestreamed to our Youtube channel (Kansas City Beatbox). All of the elimination rounds and and battle rounds will be professional recorded and posted to our Youtube channel.

Battle Registration / Event Tickets
All artists wanting to compete in this year's beatbox battle MUST purchase a battle registration ticket on this Eventbrite page.
Full three day passes for Spectators are also available for purchase on this Eventbrite page. If you are wanting to attend only one of the days of the event, you can purchase a ticket at the door of the venue.
All minors MUST be accompanied by a legal parent/guardian during the event. Minors are allowed to compete in the battle.

Prizes
• $400 cash prize for the 1st place winner of the Solo category
• $ 300 cash prize for the 1st place winner of the Loopstation category
• $ 400 cash prize for the 1st place winner of the Tag-Team category ($200 per person)
• Top 3 contestants/teams of each category will receive a specialized Crossroads medal and winners certificate plaque.

Judging Criteria
Elimination rounds and battles (for all three categories: solo, tag-team, and Loopstation) will be judged based on the following criteria.
Open Eliminations
Each solo/tag-team group will have up to 90 seconds to perform their showcase elimination round, and the Loopstation category will have up to 3 minutes to perform their elimination round.(round times are subject to change depending on the number of registered beatboxers).
Each elimination round will be graded on four categories: Originality, Musicality, Technicality, & Showmanship. Each category will be rated on a scale of 1-10. The highest-ranking eliminations for each category will be seeded into the battle brackets. There will be a top 16 bracket for Solos, Top 8 for Tag-Teams, and a top 4 for Loopstation.
Battles
•Battles will follow the HBB standard judging criteria. For more details, please refer to https://www.humanbeatbox.com/.../the-complete-guide-to.../.
•Battles will be held in ABAB format.
•Each contestant/team will have two 90-second rounds. (Two 3 minute rounds for the loopstation category.)
•There will be no countdown between rounds. In other words, battler B responds immediately after battler A finishes.
•The winner of the coin toss chooses who goes first.
•Judges will vote for the winner after both rounds are complete.
•A draw will result in one 30-second overtime round where the 2nd contestant goes first. Only 3 overtime rounds will be permitted for the entire competition.
