Cross Culture Night - Fresh Air Collective

John Jermyn is an artist and art tutor whose proximity to the sea has deeply influenced his work. His paintings explore and interpret landscapes, ranging from calm shorelines to stormy seas. They offer an initial glimpse of the subject but then invite viewers to explore something deeper and more expansive. His connection to nature has shaped him into a distinctive and forward-thinking painter.

Afric Prendergast hails from Castlemartyr. An instrumental music teacher for over 20 years, she teaches violin, piano, ukulele, guitar and musicianship to early primary school students. She is a graduate of UCC with a B.Mus, H.Dip. Ed and most recently a B.C.L.. Afric has played with many groups over the years for weddings and other occasions and is a member of the Cork Concert Orchestra.

Fresh Air Collective is an all-female trio who play klezmer, gypsy jazz, waltzes from France, Argentinian tangos, American bluegrass tunes and original songs and tunes written and arranged by Edel Sullivan (fiddle), Ruti Lachs (piano accordion) and Eileen Healy (guitar and vocals). There may well be dancing!
