Cross Culture Night -Calliope Vocal Octet

Opening conversation with Dara Fitzpatrick lectures in Analytical Chemistry at University College Cork. He is a long-time member of Birdwatch Ireland and for the Irish Wetland Bird Survey each winter. He has secured successful grant aid in the past from Local Agenda 21 and the Heritage Council. He is Chairperson of the County Nature Trust which has been involved with many projects including a habitat management plans, nest box installation for Barn Owls and Swifts. He is an avid birdwatcher and moth recorder, and leads many nature walks annually.

Calliope is a Cork based vocal octet first formed in January 2023 with members of various backgrounds who have come together over their love of choral music. Under the direction of Sam Guisinger they perform music spanning across genres and languages. With a desire to engage audiences, the ensemble performs with the intention to enchant and embrace listeners with the beauty of choral music.
