This course is in EnglishCome and learn the basics of figure drawing in Absalon!
This four-week course is for you, who would like to work on your drawing skills.
Our teacher will guide you through sessions of drawing a life model. There will be teaching in different techniques such as drawing fundamentals, gesture, basic form, proportions and shading. Every time we will be drawing after a life model.
Step by step, we will be working on the different techniques for drawing a wholesome figure.
You don’t need to be a skilled drawer to join this course.

Thursday the 3rd of April - Gesture and Flow
We’ll start by exploring the basics of figure drawing, also known as croquis. Our focus will be on gesture—capturing the rhythm, flow, and energy of the pose to create dynamic, lifelike drawings.
Thursday the 10th of April - Structure and Form
In this session, we’ll dive into structure, learning how to make figures look three-dimensional rather than flat. By working with basic forms and mannequinization techniques, we’ll build a strong foundation for constructing believable figures.
Thursday the 17th of April - Shading and Rendering
We’ll explore shading and rendering, using light and shadow to depict form and create depth. Together, we’ll practice conveying form through values instead of relying on outlines.
Thursday the 24th of April - Long Pose Practice
In the final session, we’ll bring it all together in a long pose drawing. Applying gesture, structure, and shading, we’ll create a polished and expressive piece that incorporates everything we’ve learned.
Our teacher
The teacher Gabriel Hintenaus has a background in fine arts from the Watts Atelier in California, where his focus was on painting, drawing and figure drawing. Furthermore he has been studying 3D animation and loves the fusion of traditional art and the digital art world. Gabriel is now working as a senior concept artist and has many years of experience in the entertainment industry. Currently working with digital art in the firm Mood Visuals.
PRACTICAL INFO
We are in Tårnværelset on the 3rd floor. You get there by taking the stairs up from the entrance. There is no elevator.
We meet four Thursdays from 19-21:30. Thursday the 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th of April.

The tickets are non-refundable and can't be changed to another date.
Materials
We suggest you buy charcoal pencils (For example Conte a Paris pierre noire B and HB) and use A3 paper with a smooth surface. Buy it either online or in an art shop.
