HOT: Vertical Ventilation + Ladders
Kristjahn Boyd (Seattle Fire, formerly with Stockton Fire)
A unique opportunity to hone your truck work skills, Kristjahn brings years of experience from his time as a tillermen with Stockton FIre. You will get a practical look at vertical ventilation operations and ladder work, with an emphasis on the skills, techniques, and considerations firefighters need when operating above the fire. Chainsaws, rotary saws, pitched roofs and flat - we're doing it all!
This is an 8 hour HOT class. Full turnout gear is needed, no live fire.
HOT: Technically Specific Entry
Colby Dodd (Northen H.O.T)
Technically Specific Entry is built around FIREMANSHIP and LANGUAGE—because the words we use and the skills we master shape the way we operate on the fireground. This class will challenge us to think deeper, work smarter, and sharpen our edge as firefighters.
From TOOL TALK to an inside look at current and future practices, we’ll be expanding both our skill sets and knowledge base to make us more confident, effective, and aggressive where it counts most.
Hands-on, you’ll learn:
- How to tune your halligan and axe for maximum performance
- How to apply mechanical advantage to work smarter, not harder
- And most importantly, you’ll get real reps that translate directly to the fireground.
This is an 8 hour HOT class. Full turnout gear is needed, no live fire.
