Crochet Workshop: Make a Handmade Holiday Gift (Amigurumi)
About this Event
As the days get shorter and cozier, it feels like the perfect time to gather for some slow making, and to make something special for someone you love this Christmas.
Join me for a beginner-friendly Amigurumi workshop, a 3-hour indoor session on Saturday, Nov 28th in Kitsilano, near West 2nd and Waterloo. Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting small stuffed creatures, and by the end you’ll have made your very own little bumblebee, ready to wrap up as a one-of-a-kind handmade Christmas present (or to keep for yourself, we won’t tell 🎁).
We’ll cover the basics: holding your hook, the magic ring, single crochet, increasing and decreasing, and putting all the pieces together. All tools and materials are included, and they’re yours to keep, along with your creation, so you can keep making at home.
No experience needed. Come for a warm cuppa, good conversation, and a little quiet crochet time.
