About this Event
AB 2764 is most likely going to a vote in the Assembly Agriculture Committee on April 27th. Please save the date and join us at this important hearing to rally and give public comment in support of the bill.
If passed, AB 2764 would stop the construction and expansion of large slaughterhouses and factory farms in California, a huge step towards reducing methane emissions and protecting vulnerable groups including workers, animals, and residents in rural communities impacted by factory farm pollution.
Ag industry groups like the California Cattlemen’s Association have already started lobbying against AB 2764. These powerful interest groups exert a lot of pressure on legislators, and we need to counter it by showing the overwhelming public support from ordinary Californians for a factory farm moratorium.
That’s why we need to show up in large numbers for this vote to ask the members of the Agriculture Committee to side with the people of California instead of the factory farming industry. We will rally outside of the Capitol before the hearing starts, and then we will do public comment during the hearing to speak in support of the bill. Please invite everyone you can to join this important event.
Factory farming is a threat to our environment, to public health, to vulnerable workers, and to more and more animals every year as this violent industry continues to grow. Come show your support for AB 2764 and help us pass a factory farm moratorium in California.
Yellow AB 2764 t-shirts will be available for attendees who don’t already have one. Please bring yours if you have one already!
