About this Event
The terms โcritical mineralsโ and โrare earth elementsโ are used frequently in the news media these days, particularly by politicians, but many people (including journalists and politicians) are uncertain as to the precise meaning of these terms. So, what are critical minerals? Why are these mineral commodities more important than others? How are they determined and who makes the determination? How important are these mineral commodities to the overall American economy? What chemical elements are considered rare earths, and why are they so important? Where are these resources found in the United States? These current topics, and more, are to be discussed during this 2-hour presentation designed for a general audience. There will be a restroom break midway.
