Critical Conversation overview

As part of the Universities 2030 commitment to having an inclusive workplace environment that supports diversity and promotes collaboration and well-being; USW Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Department is proud to announce the start of a 3 part series of ‘Race Equity Critical Conversations’.

Bringing people together from a wide range of different background and experiences to create a brave space for all participants to engage in. The series aims to create an opportunity for individuals to comfortably partake in critical conversations about ‘Race Equity’ and how the different topics impact upon our University community and ability to progress our Race Equality Charter Work.

The series will be open to USW students and staff alongside invited guests, including Race Equality Charter critical friends.

Aims and Objectives

Critical Conversation will:

Provide a brave space for EDI related conversations

1. Encourage stakeholder engagement
2. Highlight and explore ideas that champion Race Equity as part of the Universities Race Equality Charter
3. Provide an opportunity for staff and students to learn and express their opinions on challenging topics and issues in a brave space.
4. Play a crucial role in providing the stepping stones for USW 2030 strategy commitment to its equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) agenda ‘We will... .’ USW 2030
