CrimeStoppers Night at the Theatre - Jesus Christ Superstar

Recognized as a landmark musical today, Jesus Christ Superstar almost wasn’t produced. When Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice couldn’t find financial backing for the show, they produced a concept album instead. The album proved so successful that financing soon followed and the “Rock Opera” musical was born. This very human, psychological telling of the final days of Jesus – seen through the eyes of Judas – remains awe-inspiring and thought-provoking.

Bring friends. Bring neighbors. And while you’re at it, donate an extra $150 to send a police officer and guest. This is our annual thank-you to the Memphis Police Department for our all-important partnership in bringing felons and fugitives to justice, plus an important fundraiser so that our coffers remain able to pay out cash awards to citizens who anonymously call in information helpful to warrants and arrests.

The reception and dinner begin at 6 p.m. The show (open seating) starts at 8.

The venue is the beautiful main stage of Playhouse on the Square, 66 S. Cooper Street at the corner with Union Avenue in midtown.

CrimeStoppers is successful every year because of those who report what they know (to 528-CASH) and because of those who support us with their charitable gifts.
