About this Event
Liverpool's bestselling crime fiction author M K Murphy (AKA Margaret Murphy) talks to Daniel Sellers about her crime writing and launches her latest novel Blood Debt (Book 2 in the DS Rick Turner series).
Margaret Murphy writes internationally acclaimed and bestselling crime and psychological thrillers under her own name and M K Murphy, and forensic thrillers as Ashley Dyer and AD Garrett. She is a past Chair of the UK Crime Writers Association (CWA), founder of M**der Squad, and a former RLF Writing Fellow and Reading Round Lector. She’s been a country park ranger, biology teacher, dyslexia specialist and Visiting Professor in creative writing. A Short Story Dagger, HRF Keating, and CWA Red Herring award winner, she has also been shortlisted for the ‘First Blood’ critics award and CWA Dagger in the Library.
Daniel Sellers grew up in Yorkshire. He has lived and worked in Liverpool, Glasgow, Dublin, and Vaasa in Finland. He now lives in Argyll with his partner and a wheaten terrier called Rasmus. Daniel loves crime fiction, old and new, particularly the work of Margaret Murphy, Mo Hayder, Ruth Rendell, P D James and Josephine Tey. He is a huge fan of Agatha Christie, collecting first editions and managing the “For the Love of Agatha” Twitter fan account (@FortheLoveofAg1). Daniel’s detective thrillers are pacy and dark, with as much interest in whydunnit as who.
Event supported by the Research Institute for Literature and Cultural History, Faculty of Arts, Professional and Social Studies at Liverpool John Moores University and by The Granada Foundation. Ticket proceeds from this event go to Smithdown in Bloom.
