Mitchell Whitley, a Greensboro native and first-generation college graduate, earned his BA in Political Science from Samford University, magna cum laude, in 2021. After six years in North Carolina politics, this Eagle Scout launched "Mitchell’s Mayors," a statewide tour to highlight the unique qualities of all 551 NC communities, listen to citizens' challenges, and publish a book to drive positive change for all North Carolinians.
By day, Mitchell supports high school students through a Raleigh nonprofit focused on workforce training and education. His passions include traveling, fencing, running, camping, reading, movies, collecting political memorabilia, family time, and writing. Upon completing his tour, he plans to author a book sharing inspiring stories and real issues facing everyday residents.
